08:53 AM ET 09.15 | Things have certainly changed in Austin the past four years for Mack Brown. Following a Texas touchdown against Ole Miss, a Brown PSA ad appeared on the Jumbotron at Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium and the student section, along with quite a few others, booed. The boos came after a nice Texas drive in which the Longhorns pulled within seven of the Rebels. It's a perilous time in Austin for Brown and things are drastically different. The coach has been, and usually is, a fan favorite.

As long as the booing is coming from the student section and not from the booster section, then Mack is safe.

Akron really screwed up the end of that game... UM was VERY fortunate.

I just don't understand how a school so rich in history...so demanding of it's athletes...so set on winning...puts up with this mediocrity. When you have what Texas can offer, why would you put up with Mack Brown? He can no longer recruit, he can't put together a game plan, he can't hire coaches...what in the world can he do??? Right now, A & M is putting it to the 'horns in every aspect of the game. It's going to get worse folks. Until you get rid of Brown, you are going to see the best recruits go to College Station. Sumlin can coach.

If you think for a second Greg Robinson is your defensive answer...God help you. He has failed at every stop he's ever had. In fact, I don't think you have a coordinator on staff that could be considered elite or has any decent head coaching prospects. How come Nick Saban can hire the best coordinators in the country year after year and Texas can't? How do other coaches poach the best recruits right out from under the nose of Brown? Folks, there are so many glaring holes in Mack Brown, he looks like Swiss cheese. Put your egos aside and move on. Maybe Muschamp will come back. Hell...Patrino would be a HUGE upgrade! Don't bet on Saban, he's not coming. So go get the best of what's left and start winning again.

Is Chucky tired of watching yet? Maybe he is ready to step in and be a coach again.

By the way, great "offensive" game yesterday between Bama & A&M!!!

September 15, 2013  10:12 AM ET

You fired your defensive coordinator last week after being drill by BYU and this week it wasn't any different Mack. Defensive changes at halftime was made by Ole Miss this week and your Horns did not score. But your team made little changes and the Rebels scored 28 in the second half going on to a romp over your team. Mack you have had a good run, made plenty of money, but the game has pass you by and the Horns fans are wanted to sing a song to you" Happy Trails To You Mack. "

And - for everyone that's bashing Mack... Look at the bigger picture. The Basketball team couldn't make the 68-team tournament and the baseball team couldn't make the 8-team Big 12 tournament.

So...

Get to class you Boo Birds and pay your tuition. Brown is under contract until 2020. He will earn about $5.4 million this year with annual raises built into his contract.

He should chunk a million or so to Vince Young every year until 2020.

That chunk of change would dry up most ricky-tick if the fans voted instead with their pocketbooks and their feet.
