Should Washington bench RG3?

03:51 PM ET 09.16 | The Washington Redskins could have a problem on their hands. In the first two weeks of the regular season, quarterback Robert Griffin III has looked awful early in the games as the team falls into early deficits before waking up in the second half and putting up respectable stats. If Griffin puts together another first half like he has against the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, should the team consider benching the player that they have invested so much in? To be fair to Griffin, he is rusty from the time off due to his recovery from ACL reconstruction. However, he has looked shaky in the pocket and his mechanics have been off as he fails to step in to his throws and drive the ball downfield. Could it be a lack of confidence in his injured knee? Griffin doesn't look comfortable and he has not looked like the player he was in his rookie season, so the team could strongly consider turning to fellow second-year signal-caller Kirk Cousins, who has proven to be a valuable player. It is something that Washington will need to give serious consideration to if RG3 looks lackluster in his next start against the Detroit Lions.

Bench? No. Rest some more and re-hab a little better? Yes.
