03:55 PM ET 09.16 | Junior quarterback Blake Bell was phenomenal in his first career start on Saturday, throwing for 413 yards and four touchdowns as his Oklahoma Sooners dismantled the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to the tune of 51-20. There were concerns regarding the accuracy of the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Bell, a player more known for his scrambling ability than his arm, but Bell's remarkable performance not only helped put those questions to rest but also earned him the starting job for Oklahoma's upcoming game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Bell was initially beaten out for the starting job by freshman Trevor Knight during training camp, but Knight struggled in the first two games of the 2013 season, completing only 43.8 percent of his passes and throwing almost as many interceptions (three) as touchdowns (four). Knight is currently out due to a bruised knee he suffered against West Virginia.

We have to send old buddy Sparty home with a lose before we welcome the Sooners at South Bend.
The Irish front D-line penetrates and gets to the qb. If Bell can scramble to look for an open man like Gardner of Michigan did then we might have game on our hands.

Haven't seen a whole lot of Belldozer in action, but didn't think "scrambling ability" ranked up there in his skill set.

ND will win this game vs OK / win or lose vs. MSU.

I hope you're right Yooper. Both teams seem to be mediocre at best so far...

If so he almost got the score right, at least.

Everyone calls ND the most overrated team / I'll go with OK. I could be wrong but I feel OK is at least as overrated. Bob Stoops may be in Mack Brown's shoes next year.

Kelly is the right guy for ND / they just aren't quite there yet.

I have similar feelings about Hoke.

See you in the Final Four in 2015. :-)

In the past few years Stoops has lost the "big" games. That being said, im not sure that id want anyone else coaching the sooners. He's won numerous conference titles and with mike back as DC I think were getting back to an all around solid team. Past years weve been able to score points but have had no defense. Granted we haven't played a solid offense to know for sure but Im willing to say were not overrated and that we will hold Notre Dame to few yards. To say that stoops may be in macks shoes next year is a stretch.
