TCU entering identity crisis

07:32 AM ET 09.17 | Barely a month -- that's all it has taken. Three weeks in and TCU's offense has an identity crisis. Maybe its the shuffling of quarterbacks with Trevone Boykin taking over for the injured Casey Pachall. Maybe it's the slow start of the receiving corps. Whatever the reason, the Horned Frogs' offense has been ineffective in the first half of the first three games and twice the second-half turnaround wasn't enough to prevent a loss. TCU (1-2) ranks 92nd out of 123 teams with 354 yards per game and is 81st in scoring at 25 points per game. ... With Boykin at quarterback, TCU would like to show a more dynamic offense, but that may require a run-first approach. "We have a guy who can run around do things," Patterson said. "Main thing is I think we should have rushed the ball more."

I recommend more Wayman James... but's that's just me being a little provincial.

O-Line has too many newbies in it right now IMHO.

So you're saying Mack has a chance. Is it possible even Big East has moved past the B12 as a football conference. Man the B12 blows this year.

You not buying the Okie Lite or Baylor kool-aide? I looked at some early line projectiosn and OSU looks to be favored in every game this year. Baylor may be as well (except when they play Okie Lite @ Stillwater).

One of these runs the table, Big 12 would be in line for a BSBCS shot if other conf champs have a loss......

If Zero U gets things ironed out, you may have to listen to the hooting from the family again WPS.

I still think the Big 12 winner may have 2 or 3 losses. Unless someone gets hot or they get their dobber down (ala rusty cows), everyone could beat everyone.

Not a very good conference this year, just an even one.

But, I've been wrong before.

Never good when Christians have an identity crisis. Perhaps a retreat would be in order?

Baylor will dominate

.....ou and ou jr could beat any team in the country not named oregon........sec is goin downhill....texas tech will have the top recruiting class in nation behind gq boy.....they plan to recruit the mamas and fat girlfriends, and the athlete will follow....brilliant strategy...

I doubt Patterson has become a bad coach after all these years. A young o-line, loss of a lot of presumed starters, and the qb situation are all valid reasons for TCU's performance so far. Still have nine games to go, let's see how they are at the end of the year.

So the B1G is down, the B12 is down, the SEC is down, the p12 is up (because they beat down B10 teams), and the ACC is up ( because they beat down SEC teams). Clear as mud. Think I'll wait a few more weeks before declaring who is up and who is down.

Don't burst their bubble Guido, it has been that way a good while but the SEC folks are in denial just because of a few national championships.

Damn it was hard to type that with a straight face.

Somebody besides OU needs to hang 70 on the 'Horns. That will bring about the changes needed (Buh Bye, Dodds & Brown).

Baylor very well could unless the rusty cows can stall by keeping the ball via long drives.
