07:35 AM ET 09.17 | Martin who? It didn't take long for Devils fans to take to Cory Schneider. In his first game of any kind with the Devils after being acquired in a June 30 trade with Vancouver, Schneider stopped all 22 shots he faced over the first two periods tonight to help the Devils defeat the Rangers, 2-1, in both team's preseason opener at Prudential Center. Keith Kinkaid finished up in net for the Devils in the third period and stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced. Devils' fans lauded Schneider with chants of "Cor-ree! Cor-ee! -- echoing the ones usually reserved for [Brodeur] -- particularly in the second period, when he made 12 saves. "That was incredible," Schneider said. ... "It didn't feel like a preseason game. I guess I'll just need to post a shutout every time to get that kind of reception."

Shutouts are welcome but not necessary. Just win your share of games and you'll have them eating out of the palm of your hand.

No, nobody loves Coors. It's what people drink when they're out of beer.
