Hypocritical Jets rushed top pick

07:16 AM ET 09.18 | Should rookie cornerback Dee Milliner have been atop the depth chart to begin with? Competition has been the catch word of the John Idzik regime with the Jets. But the team's coaches and decision makers look like total hypocrites when it comes to [Milliner]. Milliner did nothing to earn his starting job other than being drafted No. 9 overall. He spent the entire spring on the sideline, recovering from shoulder surgery, then showed up to training camp a week late after a contract holdout. Still, coach Rex Ryan handed Milliner the starting job, with the general manager's blessing, presumably. Now Milliner is struggling, and Ryan benched him against the Patriots. Well, Milliner probably should not be starting in the first place.

These teams need to learn to coach their own teams. Not let the media run things

I bet he's still not 100%. This is a shut down corner that will be good eventually.... But yeah... Not a #9 pick.

Well Rex is waiting for Manish Mehta

Does he go for boys who are sort of "mannish?" Like Sanchez?

Yup yup... Probably with their 2nd pick too (Geno). He may have went undrafted.

3rd pick

Who did they get 2nd ?

Well, it looks like quarterback is not the only position where a young player runs the risk of being ruined by being rushed into the starting lineup too soon.

Took Sheldon Richardson DT with their second pick in the first round.

It's funny how that actually is a viable explanation for things.

the dude played for alabama, basically a team better than Jacksonville

I heard this same crap about Duke basketball - there is no way on God's green earth a college team could be a pro team. Certainly a few of these Alabama players could start on Jacksonville and a few others take up roster spots but you are EXTREMELY HIGH if you think a college team (who's elite players will go pro) can beat a team of PROS.
