03:35 PM ET 09.18 | Three-time UFC title contender Chael Sonnen spends his time outside of the octagon as an analyst for the UFC on FOX Sports 1. As Sonnen often does, he speaks without a filter and that has landed him in the center of some controversy after making insensitive remarks about recording artist Rihanna. After receiving some backlash from Sonnen's domestic violence joke, FOX Sports has come forward with an apology. For FOX Sports, they understand that is a risk they take by using a guy with no filter as an on-air personality, but they will try to keep these controversies at a minimum moving forward.

Chael Sonnen is AWESOME !!!!

BTW - this is complete and total BS. Television stations don't apologize for their late night host remarks during their monologues when stuff like this happens, why should FS1 feel that they have to? They already know that Chael is that special kind of DBag who would say something like this - and I highly doubt that he meant any ill will with his words.
