Browns WR Josh Gordon set to return

03:45 PM ET 09.18 | The Cleveland Browns will be getting wide receiver Josh Gordon back this weekend following his two-game suspension for a violation of league rules and he will immediately be jumping into the starting lineup as the No. 1 target. With Gordon's return to the field, his ability to stretch the field and open up the passing game could work wonders for running back Trent Richardson. However, there is one slight problem - starting quarterback Brandon Weeden is out with an injury to his throwing hand. Weeden had the arm strength necessary to hit wide receivers down the field and the vertical passing game the Browns installed over the offseason was set to provide a spark to the team once Gordon returned, but now he will need to rely on quarterback Brian Hoyer to get him the ball. Unfortunately, Hoyer's arm is less than stellar and he could have some problems getting the ball where it needs to be in order to get Gordon the targets.

Can he play RB?

Richardson traded was bigger news.

And they want to replace him with Willis McGahee.

Can't believe the Browns traded Richardson and kept Weeden.....

not that any team would want Weeden...

They are starting Hoyer over Jason Campbell with Weeden injured. This says everything you need to know about the Browns.

"Hoyer's arm less than stellar". Josh you may want to look at more suspension options.

Hell, he may need to play QB.

Jeez, hasn't Cleveland suffered enough? Is Allen Funt hiding in the bushes with a camera?

A little Ponder playing QB may be what the doctor ordered for Browns fans.

Wait breaking news just in Josh Gordon traded to Baltimore for a 2nd and 5th round draft pick!!???

Da browns. They will have two first round picks and one will be a QB. Weeden's eulogy is being written as we speak. I hope he understands this. He is the odd person out in Cleveland next year. They will keep Hoyer and get rid of him for another draft pick. Pretty smart actually. Get you franchise QB for a one and trade your top back and QB for a couple of 2's and come out smelling like a rose
