04:04 PM ET 09.19 | The San Francisco 49ers have rushed for 190 yards in two games this season, tied for 17th in the NFL. Perennial All-Pro running back Frank Gore has rushed for just 60 of those. After rushing for more than 1,200 yards the past two seasons - including a 16-carry, 131-yard performance and 16-carry, 112-yard performance against Seattle and Green Bay, respectively, in 2012 - the slow start for Gore has 49ers fans concerned about the 30-year-old rusher and the ground attack in general. Frank Gore is well aware of the issue, and wants the 49ers to get better as a team on the ground.

The read option makes the running back a blocker or outlet receiver. When you have a versatile read option QB, the only designated run plays are to let him catch his breath.

Sounds like Frank hadn't read the team playbook yet.

Exactly. Kaepernick is now the ground attack.
