07:12 AM ET 09.20 | Soon, camps across North America will open. The Magic will bring second-round pick Romero Osby to training camp along with free agents Solomon Jones, Michael Eric, Manny Harris and Kris Joseph, according to a source close to the team. The Magic are working on coming to terms with Osby, the former Oklahoma forward whom the club selected 51st in the second round. Jones, a 6-foot-10 center-forward, who grew up in Eustis and attended South Florida, is a seven-year NBA veteran. ... With less than two weeks to go before camp opens Oct. 1, the Magic and veteran small forward Hedo Turkoglu have yet to agree on a buyout. Turkoglu has $12 million left on the final year of his contract, but only half of it is guaranteed.

Yeah, but it's a mighty tough worst case scenario; he only gets $6 mil to do nothing.

Still think teams like OKC and the spurs could use him.

Hedo and Bynum both making a cool $6M for doing nothing!!!!

His agent must be a genius. How did he negotiate this deal?

its funny its Sept. 20th and you are sure Bynum is not going to play.

I just hope you have the integrity to eat some crow if and when you are proven wrong. Certain people around here will never admit they were wrong.

as for the Magic--- they should have dealt Harrington and Turk togethe to a team that wanted cam space--- but oh--- they had no room to take deals back since they are up against the cap

ideally- you trade with a contending team- they give you their bad contract highly paid player- you give them Turk and Harrington- who they cut and all of a sudden that team has ample cap space--- and the Magic get an asset- whether it is a 1st round pick or a solid young player---

the Magic were not able to pull off such a deal

the Magic were not able to pull off such a deal using their trade exception and it expired- just as I said it would

the Magic are still at least 2 more putrid seasons from putting a decent product on the floor- probably 3- since this next draft is the big one- and even star players- Lebron, Durant, Paul, Kyrie- did not take their team to the playoffs the first 2 seasons of their careers--- and Oladipo- is not the best player on a good team- he is ideally a 2nd or 3rd---if Orlando is lucky they will get that stud in this next draft--- and then it will take that guy 2 years to develop into a leader and star NBA player

the Magic will be good again- but it will be a 4 year rebuilding project---- last years suckitude, this years suckitude, and 2 years of suckitude with the next drafts high pick that should be the teams stud.

It is the same 4 years I expected for the Cavs- except the Cavs expedited the process by a year by gaining a ton of first round picks--- namely 6 the last 3 years.....(not too mention the 6 more the NEXT 3 years.)......

Orlando is without a doubt doing it right in order to be a team that will be relevant and contend for a home court spot in the playoffs some day----

but it is going to take some major patience----

right now- they have Vucevic in place- a +center who i think can be the 3rd or 4th best player on a very good team- prob 4 th.....

Tobias Harris is a wild card- i have no clue where he ends up- but it sure looks like he - whether he eventually ends up a great bench player- or a decent starter- seems to be a big part of the future--- id look at him as a 5th or 6th best player on a team that contends for a solid playoff seed

Victor Oladipo--- it seems that Orlando has a scheme for tanking this year- try Oladipo at PG- while i can see the value in this since it will put less pressure on Oladipo to score (and his shot is his biggest perceived liability coming into the league- along with his size marginally)--- if Oladipo could play a +PG it would be ideal- but does he have the handle? we shall see...since Oladipo will likely never be a volume scorer- a guy that can get 20- he cannot be the best player on a good team- depending on how he develops- he can definitely be either your 3rd best player- or possibly your 2nd best player (again- dependong on how he develops and who your best player is)

Getting a top 3 pick and getting Parker, Wiggins or Randle would be the best case scenario---getting Marcus Smart would be an amazing consolation prize- but those other 3 are the big gets in this draft---- there are a ton of other really really good guys- but to me- those 3 are the elite- a lot can change from now until next summer though

It's almost certain Bynum will play a couple games this season.
