Can Notre Dame flip USC targets?

07:25 AM ET 09.20 | When Southern Cal visits Notre Dame next month, there may be more on the line than a win. [USC to Washington State] really puts the Trojans in a tough spot with a long season ahead. I would imagine that Notre Dame assistant coach Mike Denbrock, who recruits California and is one of program's better recruiters, is really going to zoom in on some SC commits and targets. USC already has a lot of players committed and they're in on a lot of the top guys. This Notre Dame staff has done very well in identifying schools that are struggling, and going after their players. ... Notre Dame would really like running back Joe Mixon, especially after Elijah Hood decommitted. Mixon is the No. 1 running back on the West coast.

CHICKEN SHI! norte DAM. I hope that they get their sorry butts kick all season long.

West Coast kids may "flip," but it will be to another pac12 school.

South Bend Trib story that ND would like to recruit some kids who have verbally committed to USC-- that's news???

Calm down, son. Time to catch the school bus.

Most likely, but a few seem to want those Indiana winters each year.

Not Elijah, he decommitted and went back to the Hood..............that's why Notre Dame is looking to Compton to get some more shady running backs.

Things are changing, new money in pac12, new stadiums and facilities, teams on the rise. full circle.

ND has recruited well in CA for decades, and will continue doing so.
Some kids just want to experience the world outside the West Coast.

Explain "shady"?

The pitch:
"Come to Notre Dame, son. We've got unmatched tradition, excellent faculty, and a diaspora of alumni who look out for their own. We've got four seasons, and these relate to the weather. LA's got fire season, earthquake season, drought, and smog. We've got an average of 173 days of sunshine per year and air you can breath without concern. South Bend has a flowing river. LA's got a concrete trench. Now, LA has some pretty young women... With issues, and they all believe that they deserve a man of their unreachable ideals. Notre Dame has pretty Catholic girls, who, after repressive upbringings, like to revel in freedom and get frisky with just a little alcohol. Let me tell you, son, these LA girls may dress provocatively, but under those sweaters and pleated skirts, the coeds at Notre Dame are lovelier than a master's painting. And, you'll never want for protection, son. We've got people to see to that. You're smart enough not to get a girl in trouble. You'll have the time of your life, graduate with a Notre Dame degree, and go on to reap your fortune. We want you on our team, son. Wear the gold helmet and make your mark with the greatest program in the history of college football."

South Bend only has 173 days of sunshine and a lot of trees.

Things change. Right now ND could not even tell a kid who they would be playing in 2014 let alone three years from now. They have 6 TBA just in the 2015 schedule alone.

Then they need a Notre Dame education. They aren't too smart (or they are crazy) if they "want" those Indiana winters. That's about like "wanting" a Texas summer. I've lived those a long time and anyone that "wants" one is either uneducated or nuts.

Careful....ND will be recruiting you to do their recruiting!
