08:49 AM ET 09.21 | Just a week after Ndamukong Suh incurred a record $100,000 fine, the Detroit Lions are in hot water again with the NFL for a major violation of league rules. Louis Delmas wore the wrong color socks. Cue the national outrage. The Lions safety said Friday he was fined for having black in his socks. The Detroit News reported the amount as $5,000. How did he find out he had committed such an egregious crime? "When you get the damn check," Delmas said. Delmas said he wasn't told by Detroit's equipment staff that his attire was in discordance with the league's fashion policies.

NFL doesn't want them wearing gang colors ...

I wish baseball would have and enforce rules how the players wear their uniforms.

On the surface it seems petty to enforce, but it is a uniform so...

Yes. Happens all the time. There is a uniform code. It is not complicated at all and the league checks every player on every team every game. The rules are stated in less than fifty words and every team knows the rules. Just as RG3 knew the rules when he was wearing shirts from Addidas, he gets paid by them, big bucks.

Tired of players acting stupid. Those are the rules, they are told the rules the first week they get together as a team, and they are good ones. Good for the NFL. It would look like a clown show out there without those rules....

The NATIONAL FOOTWEAR LEAGUE does not mess around. I hear the Browns are only allowed to eat sandwiches on whole wheat bread!

I would take it one step further.

You don't take the field until you are properly attired.

The end.

This would work great. The NFL is like the government though....They want all your money.

Interesting how they don't care about their players getting arrested every day, but socks bring out all the wrath and fury. What a moronic league.
