09:01 AM ET 09.21 | On Friday, Arizona Senator John McCain tweeted his thoughts on the Dodgers' Chase Field pool celebration. He called the Dodgers "a bunch of overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brats". The whole thing came about because Diamondbacks utility man Willie Bloomquist took to the media to voice his displeasure with the act, saying he thought the Dodgers "had more class than that". Bearded gentleman and Dodgers reliever Brian Wilson is the latest to throw his opinion out into the Internet ether: "Senator McComplain knows a thing or two about coming in second and watching someone take a plunge in the pool (I mean poll)"

I wonder how long Wilson would have survived in a POW camp? Sorry as a Vietnam Vet I don't think this is funny.

Buffalum, I would think the Senator from Arizona has more pressing things to be concerned with. If his biggest concern is the Dodgers pool party, Maybe he should resign and let someone else deal with the affairs of state.

So noone can retort when McCain weighs in on an issue that is irrelevant? Vietnam has absolutely nothing to do with this. His military service is honourable.. no argument. However, when you call a group of men "overpaid, spoiled brats"... expect a response.

And that kid Wilson? His dead was a former serviceman who died when Brian was very young from cancer. So, the guy knows a bit about military service. Check out his story.

What does him making light of the 2008 Presidential race have anything remotely to do with McCain in a POW camp? Perhaps McCain would be better served trying to solve problems from his Senate seat instead of tweeting about baseball. Thank you for your service to your country, I for one appreciate the sacrifice you, and all veterans have made for your country.

McCain has gotten a pass for his lame political machinations for far too long because of his time as a POW. I appreciate his service and all that, but he has become a doddering old fool who needs to retire and go away.

This^^

Yes McCain is/was a Viet Nam hero, but come on that was almost 50 years ago. McCain needs to keep his mouth shut and concentrate on the Senate!!! After all McCain has given us all enough reasons to call him, a "overpaid, immature, arrogant, spoiled brat".

I can't stand Wilson (see 2010 World Series) but even I don't have a problem with him on this.

As was eloquently noted here a couple of days ago, this is the price the D-Backs pay for having a friggin' pool in a friggin' baseball park!

I do, but only because he used to be funny. His retort was kinda lame. I guess playing for the Dodgers killed his sense of humor...

Wilson just show that like the dodgers they are a classless team. But they are from CA and we all know that people from that TRASH state are brainless monkeys and full of illegals. Love to see the brainless and scum dodgers get their butts kick in the first round.

John McCain once voluntarily asked Sarah Palin to be his VP.

Stay in canada and keep your mouth shut. McCain and Palin would have been a lot better than we have now.

I actually don't have an issue with him playing for the Dodgers. His schtick had worn thin with the Giants. I liked him a lot better when he was a clean-shaven guy who just did his job and wasn't trying to get cameras focused on himself.

While I agree with Rex's assessment, I also agree that for a lot of professional athletes, "overpaid, spoiled brats" is indeed an apt observation.

Just like Obama, except that Barry doesn't have the 'war hero' thing to fall back on.
