08:33 AM ET 09.22 | A source assures that Vincent Viola, the Panthers' prospective new owner, has deep pockets, with a net worth north of $1 billion. Majority owner Cliff Viner decided not to keep a small piece, and all of the minority owners are selling to Viola. The Panthers are about $12 million below the $64 million salary cap ceiling, according to capgeek.com, and the hope around the club is the payroll eventually will increase. But we'll wait to hear from Viola on that before we remotely get our hopes up, especially because the team has been losing $20 million a year.

I have always found these types of articles interesting...the new owner is filthy rich so he will spend all his money on the team.

Long days but things are going good, it definitely is no where near as easy as my cushy government job I had before but I do work for me now.

Good to hear.

Do you know why government workers aren't allowed to look out the window in the morning?

They'd have nothing to do in the afternoon.

"The Predators could be bought by a billionaire"? Really? How is that news? News would be "Predators are bought by a 7th grade social studies teacher." Multi-million dollar enterprises are always bought by wealthy groups/individuals.

I thought billionaires were supposed to be smart!

Lmao! Good point. I'd love to see that headline! 7th grade social science teacher buys Panthers, with help from his students, who put on one heck of a bottle drive!
