Is Trent Richardson surprisingly elusive?

09:06 AM ET 09.22 | I have been critical of what I believe was Trent Richardson's lack of speed and big play ability. Richardson's supporters say I've been unfair because the Browns blocking has been so poor. Richardson is averaging 3.4 yards per carry, 105 yards in 31 rushes. His longest run is 10 yards. I wondered what profootballfocus.com thought of Richardson, and I was shocked: They rate him No. 1 in "elusive rating," based on yards gained after his blocking breaks down. They also rate him No. 3 in making tacklers miss. And he's No. 3 in "Yards after contact." Based on those ratings, Richardson should have a big year with the Colts, where the blocking is better and quarterback Andrew Luck will prevent defenses from stacking thee line to stop the run.

Elusive enough to get out of Cleveland. That's MVP status in my book.

Not so surprisingly is he's happy to be gone from the Loser Browns.

I'll let the 49ers answer the question.

With less than a week to learn a completely new playbook...

Indianapolis better just hope Richardson can pick up some pass blocks.

True. I would be more concerned with just how elusive Luck can be today. Could be some angry 49er defensive players out there, and one free on bail.

What won't he understand about "here's the ball. Now run with it"?

It's going to all come down to can they create running lanes for him. They couldn't in Cleveland with their week line and from what I've seen and heard, Indy's isn't much better.

That being said, good game planning can also help to open up lanes so I guess it's a wait and see.

I think only time will tell to see who won out on this trade. As of right now it seems to be 60-40 Colts. But if Cleveland is able to use this pick in a package or alone to pick up a playmaker, this could go in Clevelands favor.

I've always admired your misguided optimism.

It's either misguided or drunken delusion, take your pick!

I'm really surprised to hear that Cleveland's offensive line is as bad as everyone claims it to be when they have Joe Thomas and Alex Mack at the two most important positions.

But I don't watch many Browns games so maybe the other three lineman are truly that bad.
