10:30 AM ET 09.22 | Miguel Cabrera officially is listed as day-to-day. But it seems unlikely that Sunday will be "to-day." Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland seemed concerned about the defending American League Most Valuable Player after a sore groin forced him to leave the game Saturday night at the start of the 10th inning of his team's 7-6 victory in 12 innings over the Chicago White Sox. "I'm not exactly sure," Leyland said when asked exactly when Cabrera irritated the injury, "but I don't think it's too good." Cabrera addressed the topic very briefly during postgame interviews. "I was feeling good today," he said. "The last couple of innings, (it was) getting sore."

They've got to sit him and let him get healthy. They're six games up with seven left to play. Only a collapse of epic proportions will keep them out of the playoffs. They need him healthy for the playoffs or they'll have a quick exit.

Big deal. When you get right down to it, we're all day to day. Life goes on.

No one gets out alive and it always ends badly.

Why has Leyland even been playing Cabrera this past week or before. Cabrera can't heal if still playing. The tigers have playoff spot all but wrapped up. they need Cabrera healthy for playoffs.
