05:10 PM ET 09.22 | The Dallas Cowboys defense has been much improved in 2013, after bringing on Monte Kiffin as the new defensive coordinator. Forcing turnovers and recording sacks at an incredible rate, one of the team's stars reached a milestone on Sunday afternoon during their dominating performance over the St. Louis Rams. In the third quarter, Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware recorded his second sack of the day, which landed him as the team's all-time sack leader. It was the 115th sack of Ware's career. He surpasses the previous mark, which was held by Harvey Martin.

Nice achievement for Ware, one of the most rootable players on Dallas' roster in recent memory.

I'm not too happy with him at this point in time.

He's been steady, for sure. One of the few draft choices that have panned out for Dallas' GM.

Wow. Thinking back to all of the defensive giants in Cowboy's history it is a surprise that he has already set the bar. I guess he's been around longer than I think because they've had so many mediocre teams. Congrats to ya DW.

Congrats to DW94!

A rare find by Dallas' GM. DW94 has always been consistent/productive. Unfortunately throughout his career in Dallas, the offense seemed to continually giveaway crucial games.

The all-time sack leader for a storied franchise and he played a a small school (Troy University). Got one for the little guys, big guy.

And - to think that It was between Ware and Merriman in that draft.

Whew!

Amazing how those two diverge. One will probably go the the HOF, the other probably prison.

This stat surprises me. Was the defense philosophy that much different when the Cowboys seemed to play the Steelers every year in the Superbowl in the 70s or were those stats just not collected then thus one of the Cowboy legends could rightfully hold that title?

Well deserved and a class act. He earned it.

Deacon Jones approves this comment.

Yup, they did and this is one that Jerry got right for once.

Parcells wanted to go with Merriman and Jones wanted Ware.

I guess even the sun shines on a dogs behind every now and then?

LOL

NFL began collecting data on sacks in 1961 but did not credit specific players until 1982 ...
