07:11 AM ET 09.23 | On the upside, the 49ers did find, if briefly, their missing run game. But a lot of other facets of their offense were nowhere to be found on Sunday in a 27-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at Candlestick Park. "We didn't make plays," 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said. ... Quarterback Colin Kaepernick had his second rough performance, as he completed just 13 of 27 pass attempts for 150 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. He gained just 20 yards rushing on seven attempts, and was sacked three times. "I'm frustrated with myself," Kaepernick said. ... The 49ers' passing attack was weakened by the loss of tight end Vernon Davis, who did not suit up for the game due to a left hamstring strain. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin caught five passes for 67 yards. But the 49ers had no other serious threats in the passing game.

After yesterday, it would seem so!

And, former Niner Alex Smith is now 3-0 with Andy and the Chiefs.

The league seems to figure out hot QBs in the off season. Sure looks that way.

as are the Pats who better step on the gas now that the easy part of the schedule is over.

Pats are second in the league in points allowed. Yes, it's skewed by the schedule, but the D is giving the receivers time to get in sync with the offense.

I think him and RG3 have been figured out by the NFL, one yr. wonders aybe.

September 23, 2013  08:02 AM ET

Green Bay hadn't figured him out in Week 1.

Both QB's need legitimate WR's... And both will be fine. Skins should have won that game yesterday. Fewer mistakes than the previous two weeks for sure. We're just one beat down of the Raiders away from launching our 2013 campaign yo.

HAIL!

Speaking of teams that need to figure stuff out...

What a crappy excuse. Admit it, Read-Option offense is dead.

FAIL!

September 23, 2013  08:13 AM ET

Let the next college trend/fad take root in the NFL. The Read-Option was a one year trick.

Jimmy is sad. I'm hoping that maybe my Pack can be this year's Super Bowl victor with a Giants like 9-7 regular season record (and Cincinnatti will be the Redskins to the Giants).

September 23, 2013  08:15 AM ET

NFL defenses have figured out how to stop the read option, which is to be expected.

Boldin certainly fits the bill.

At least you haven't been shutout <points to the Giants and laughs>.

I don't know, man... I don't see a WC coming out of the North or East and the Bears look like the real deal.

9-7 isn't going to cut it.

Russell Wilson has yet to be solved

The Seahawks as a whole have yet to be solved. If the season plays out to where Seattle gets homefield advantage in the post-season, they'll be a tough nut to crack.
