07:25 AM ET 09.23 | So much for that vaunted running attack. Yes, it's certainly very early, but the numbers are at least worth acknowledging now that Alabama has played 25 percent of its regular season schedule. The Crimson Tide currently ranks last in the SEC and 90th in the nation with its average of 132 rushing yards per game. The three teams it's faced currently rank 15th (Virginia Tech), 105th (Texas A&M) and 55th (Colorado State) in rush defense. One year after it averaged 5.6 yards per carry, Alabama is picking up 4.1 per attempt. ... By this point last season, Alabama had nine rushing touchdowns. It currently has four. The most interesting number to emerge from Saturday's win was 21. That's how many rushing attempts Alabama had in a game that saw it run just 48 offensive plays.

Losing 3 lineman in the draft-could be part of the problem. Throw in a new offensive line coach and there it is.
