07:21 AM ET 09.24 | Knicks starting point guard Raymond Felton appreciated the team's distinction as the NBA's oldest team, but he believes it ultimately cost them a chance at a title. Felton said the Knicks have a greater chance of success in 2013-14 because they have become younger. Felton pointed to the elderly bench of Rasheed Wallace, Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby and Jason Kidd. ... "We're a younger team this year," Felton said at an Under Armour appearance at Macy's in Herald Square. " Kurt Thomas, Rasheed, love them like brothers. [But] those guys were 38, 39, 40 years old. Once they got injuries, they're out and it hurt us last year. ... No knock to the guys we had last year. Those guys had incredible careers. I wish I could play that long. But we are young. That's what I'm saying. We're a younger team this year."

Just shut up! You're making too many excuses and you were on that team. You played a lot in the playoffs and the other young players played a lot also including JR and Melo. You just effing lost. No excuses. Now you put too much pressure on yourself and you will not even meet all of these goals you put on the team. Just shutty!

Clearly he's knocking them. Calling people old, useless, losers, but ....sprinkled with "respect".

"Felton: Knicks were too old last season"...

You need a young roster like the Lakers!

Man, I can't believe I said that. SMH (at myself)...

September 24, 2013  09:37 AM ET

Bargnani makes them younger then, right!

September 24, 2013  09:49 AM ET

Younger But Dumber, Bro?

Good morning, FN. The Curator is IN.

While Felton might have felt that his team was "old", the fact remains that they didn't perform well enough in crunch time, and their core of young players didn't do enough to push them over the top. Leave us not forget that it was Felton himself who had a semi-meltdown by shooting so bad that the only way he became relevant was to jack a ton of shots just to get his scoring average (essentially, imo, he shot them out of the game ala Westbrook a couple of seasons ago). He has a lot of nerve calling out those older, proven guys when HE himself didn't produce and he's still young.
