04:19 PM ET 09.24 | The Kansas City Chiefs have already surpassed their win total from a year ago, but that hasn't stopped them from going through available free agents and looking to bolster the depth on their roster. Among the most recognizable names that the Chiefs have recently worked out are former New England Patriots cornerback Ras-I Dowling, who was selected in the second-round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and former Pittsburgh Steelers fifth-round pick Chris Rainey. The Chiefs also worked out tight ends Kyle Adams, Richard Gordon, Brett Brackett and Matt Veldman, defensive back T.J. Heath, defensive tackle Kheeston Randall and nose tackle Sealer Siliga.

Go Chiefs! Screw the Niners!

I really hope they keep it up. It's great to see KC doing well for a change.

They don't play Denver until late - home and away over a 3 week span. They'll be an established contender by that time.

Smith is probably saying the same thing.... IMO.

Yep... and they have a lot of things to like about them. But I saw ways they can be beat when they played the Cowboys. And if these untrained eyes can see holes in their defense I'll guarantee that Peyton can see them too.

And they said Andy Reid was all washed up. Good for him.

On a side note.... I find myself silently rooting for Andy Reid and the Chiefs.

Plus if they keep winning the Indians will protest them for a little while.

All I'm hoping for is Alex Smith leading the Chiefs to an 8-8 victory so the 49ers will pick up Kansas Cities 2nd round draft choice instead of their 3rd round draft choice. This was part of the agreement in the Alex Smith trade; 2nd round in 2013, conditional 2nd or 3rd round pick depending on whether KC finishes at .500 or better.

Who knows they may even make it as a Wild Card.

Amazing story. I see all kinds of team dumping unproductive players except one, the packers. Yes they got rid of Ross but someone had to take the fall for the loss last week, but there not out looking for O line help to save Rogers from being killed, or kick return specialists. They are 'developing' their talent. Ya, trying to make pigs ears into silk purses as they say.
There is a reason a guy is a 6th round pick: he sucked in college and or was injured all the time. Just he players the Pack develop. Ya right.
Thats why all the injuries. they draft **** from Div IA and II and expect them to stand up to NFL punishment.
