Cammalleri at a crossroads

07:27 AM ET 09.25 | On the face of things, this sets up as one of the most important seasons of Mike Cammalleri's career -- one that might be considered an audition for the NHL's other 29 teams. Given his age (31), his salary-cap hit (US$6 million), his contract status (final year) and the long-term rebuild under way in Calgary, Cammalleri will undoubtedly be traded by the swap deadline. Such a reality makes it all the more important for the former 30-goal scorer to get off to a start good enough to attract a healthy return. ... But Cammalleri doesn't look at his future like that at all. "I really don't feel that way to be honest with you," said Cammalleri in a lengthy interview he suggested will be his last on the topic. "I feel pretty present and excited to be here and be part of this."

What makes the Calgary Sun think '29 other teams' in the NHL are interested in him? Do they really think he's Sid Crosby?

I hope Mike follows Yogi's advice......

"when you arrive at a fork in the road, take it."

They can dream.

Then again the Pens fans are just hoping that they get the pre broken jaw Sid back.

Sometimes if you pound it before cooking it's softer.

And that works for calamari too. ;-)
