05:37 PM ET 09.25 | Although starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo recently suggested he wanted to retire as a member of the Cincinnati Reds, money talks and given the hefty salaries on the Reds roster, it's possible Arroyo might be a financial casualty. If he is, the New York Mets want in. According to reports, multiple sources have suggested that if Arroyo hits free agency, they'd likely make him an offer and it's an interest that is mutual.

I don't see why Arroyo would leave the Reds for a rebuilding team. I don't see why the Mets would want an old pitcher in the middle of rebuilding.

Only reason he leaves is for some reason he thinks he will not be able to crack the starting rotatoin nxt year since the Reds have 6 quality pitchers
