07:53 PM ET 09.30 | A large contingent of NBA teams held their annual media day on Monday. One of the most intriguing team to hold their media session Monday was the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans made a big spalsh in the offseason, trading for Philadelphia 76ers all star point guard Jrue Holiday and Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans. With shooting guard Eric Gordon in the fold, many pundits wondered just how Evans would be used. Throughout the summer, Evans told everyone who asked that he would be fine with coming off of the bench and now that is exactly how Pelicans head coach Monty Williams plans to use him.

QUOTE(#1):

Just a dumb sign.they have 35+ mil tied up in that back court.

Gordon was a mistake. And they complicate it with another mistake. Who pays $12M for backup PG?

At 6'6" and about 220 lbs, Evans can play either guard position.

If Gordon can somehow manage to stay healthy, NO will have one of the best, versitile and most well rounded backcourts in the league.

All three are 24 yoa or younger when the season starts......and all three have scored 17+ ppg for a season......all three are under contract for (at least) the next couple of seasons.

I see nothing wrong with this backcourt at all.....providing Gordon stays healthy.

And if he doesn't.....you got Evans available to step in for him.

What could be wrong with that?
