Arians: 'It was putrid'

07:11 AM ET 10.01 | Given some time to think about it, Bruce Arians hadn't much softened on his stance. "It was putrid," Arians said of his offense on Monday, a day after the Cardinals' 13-10 win at Tampa Bay, which evened their record at 2-2. ... [Carson Palmer has] been intercepted six times, has had to force things when under pressure. But Arians put most of the blame for that on the receivers in Sunday's game. "To say he gets happy feet or anything like that, no," Arians said. "He stood in there and took some shots. ... When he stands in there and takes those shots and makes those throws, we've got to do a better job as receivers of making those plays." As for [Rashard Mendenhall], an Arians favorite when the two were with the Steelers, the coach finally had his first critical words for the tailback. "I think his lack of practice time is really starting to show up in the games," he said.

Wow, how ticked does he get when they lose?

I'm sure we'll find out often enough this season.

Yeah....they're really not very good.

They should be thankful they have the record they do. <looks at Giants, Falcons, Steelers>

I couldn't believe they won when I checked the scores late Friday... until I realized who they played

Sums it up.

Same old Carson Palmer.

When BA showed up in Phoenix this past spring I was not jumping on his bandwagon. He talks to the media a little more openly than we are used to hearing.

I liked this presser, he called out some folks who need to hear it.

I don't have any illusions that the Cards can go 8-8, but I'd like to see Arians develop something here.

I really didn't understand Pittsburgh of all places, known for stability, firing the guy. They called it retirement - cept BA didn't retire, he was pushed out.

I've rarely seen karma work so effectively as it has with the Steelers.

Well heck, they played a team where the coach practically runs out on the fied and drills a small caliber round into the base of his QBs skull.

He sounds irked.

He talks to the press here locally like he's sitting with a buddy at Chilis. Very transparent. It's unusual.

That is different. The one that I do not get is Squire Irsay tweeting all the time during games. That is a waste of an owners box.

He hasn't been a head coach very long. I'm sure he'll get over it, and learn to speak in meaningless cliches and platitudes soon enough

I meant Sunday.

Apparently I was looking at UtahFriday username when I typed that

Would you prefer that he twerked?

Worst 2-2 team in the league. The Peterson Principle (two INT.) kept them from losing Sunday last.

It does have more possibilities from a literary standpoint. Headline could read " Highlights from Arians twerking off, film at eleven."

I think reality has finally set in for Arians. He's coaching the AZ Cardinals.
