07:12 AM ET 10.01 | Well, it didn't take long to get the question to former Patriots and Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour. Reached this morning at his home outside of Atlanta, [Seymour] indicated that he was not considering a return to New England in the wake of Vince Wilfork's season-ending Achilles injury. When asked if he'd come back to the Patriots, where he was part of all three Super Bowl championship teams, Seymour chuckled, responding "No way." The 33-year-old former sixth overall draft pick and seven-time Pro Bowler said he is spending his time working on earning his private pilot's license. Of course, at his age and playing ability, if a lucrative offer was presented to the 6-foot-6, 317-pound Seymour, he might consider a return to the playing field, though that appears to be a longshot.

Some sports columnist for the Globe suggested this. Pulled it right out of his Buttfumble target. If you believe in fairy tales and the government, you'll bite on this one, too.

Seymour and Bill B mix like matches and gasoline. Not going to happen.

It's always been about the money, and not the opportunity, with Seymour.

1 hard statistic - with Wilfork on the field, NE is 8th against the run. With Wilfork off the field, they are 32nd.

Game plans will be rapidly changing.

Pure fiction beginning to end. As of four days ago the Pats had $6.8 million open in cap space and Seymour would want all of it and more. He is done regardless. great career, great player.

My Merrill Lynch guy has me in a laddered set of bonds, with maturities every couple of years. Belichick is doing the same with his defensive players.

Neither of us is interested in City of Oakland general obligation bonds coming due next month.

I'm not getting on the same plane this guy is. I can imagine the engine sputtering trying to get him off the ground. No thanks.
