07:13 AM ET 10.01 | Ravens coach John Harbaugh let off some steam, and his targets were an ineffective offense line and inconsistent receiving. An ornery [Harbaugh] took aim at both groups Monday, pulling no punches in his assessment of the offense's slow start. "The whole O-line is disappointing right now," Harbaugh said. ... With Dennis Pitta sidelined, a drop-prone Ed Dickson took the brunt of Harbaugh's ire at the pass-catching woes of the Ravens' tight ends. "The stats kind of speak for themselves. He's not the same player right now that he was (when he caught 54 passes in 2011)," Harbaugh added. "If he has a confidence problem, that's on him. Ed needs to catch the ball. If he's thinking about anything besides that, he's doing himself a disservice."

Dickson needs to quit playing volleyball with the football and start catching it!

It's hard to be the coach the year after you win the Superbowl.

But it's good to be the King.

The magic dust from last year has moved on, maybe to Denver or New Orleans?

And as is known in New England it's sure hard to repeat, let alone get back to the playoffs!

Ed Dickson should be released to waivers, good lord

It's not rocket science... Watch the games down the line last year where the going got tough. You won't find most of the muscle that pulled the Ravens through the fire on their roster this year.

They chose to overpay a mid-level QB at the cost of about 3 or 4 other positions.

Harbaugh doesn't mention the 5 interceptions in this rant.

Another idiot putting the blame on Flacco's paycheck. You seriously need to get your facts straight before commenting. Flacco's $$$ has nothing to do with the Ravens cap for this year and next year. Sizzle, Ngata, and Rice's are! Also, did you ever watch the game why Flacco had 5 INT's or just made stupid assumptions?

I think I might know a team in NYC that might trade offensive lines with you, Jim.

October 1, 2013  08:54 AM ET

Harbaugh and any other coach does not need to go down this road anymore. Dumb on his part. There are plenty of talking heads and bloggers and radio ghosts and hack reporters to do the dirty work for you now.

October 1, 2013  08:54 AM ET

Losing to the Bills will do that.

I thinker need to come up with a new term for people who are educated and realistic "fans", so that we can distinguish between the crazy fanatics who call names and are closed minded and those that are logical, intelligent and open minded - and who don't call people names because someone doesn't agree with their opinions.

I think we need....

Ozzie has to call this guy in to his office and explain a few things. Like," look, I had to get rid of the guys that made you look good because their time had come and I have a cap to deal with. Now don't go and say anything stupid to the press and make it harder for me to bring in some free agents next year."

i think what he's saying is that his opinions are based on being a Ravens fan (like myself) and having figures to go off of. it seems like you don't know all the numerical aspects of the situation. So what he's trying to say is that you need to do some research before formulating your opinions. I too believe that if you truly knew the numbers you would think differently.

Interesting to note that the teams that are struggling so far this year (Ravens, Steelers, Giants) are all well-run franchises that are having O-line problems. Part of it is injury, which you can't plan for, but part of it is also not replacing people in a timely manner. And some times the salary cap rules just paint you into a corner.
