07:17 AM ET 10.02 | Yes, Darius Morris may be Philadelphia's best point guard in training camp. But the Sixers are banking on Michael Carter-Williams -- not Morris -- to run the team. As a result, the former Los Angeles Laker's job is to provide a spark off the bench. He's also expected give leadership and guidance to the rookie first-round pick out of Syracuse. Isn't there a fine line to helping Carter-Williams since the goal is to become a starter? "Not necessarily," said Morris, who's practicing with a face mask due to breaking his nose during a pre-training camp workout. "I just want to come out here and play and compete and help the team," he added. "Whether that's me coming off the bench and backing him up whatever that may be, I'm not really worried about that."

The Sixers have a way of leaving you speechless.

Mine as well start the rookie so he can be ready next year. Morris hasn't proven that he can be a starting PG... I forgot he was in a black hole for PGs the past years.

Exactly! Have I missed something? Have the Sixers become awash with options that they can choose here?

They might as well start the rook and let him develop as they tank this season.

QUOTE(#6):

yup-I always feel that if it is a given that the season is a wash.what is the point of NOT putting him in there? to not mess with his confidence? I mean if he's that weak minded- find out early, rather than later

They are scared that he might actually play well, and get some wins. They know what they're doing LOL.
