07:31 AM ET 10.02 | Seeing George Parros laying on the ice shook up more than a few hockey fans Tuesday. Parros suffered a concussion early in the third period of the Montreal Canadiens' 4-3 home-opener loss to the rival Toronto Maple Leafs after slamming face first into the ice during a fight. Parros was knocked unconscious after a tussle with Colton Orr -- their second fight of an unruly game -- brought him tumbling to the ice. ... The hard-hitting Canadiens forward spent several minutes motionless on the ice, attended to by the teams' medical staffs, before being taken off on a stretcher. He was taken to the hospital where he was reportedly alert and conscious. "You never want to see a guy get hurt like that," said Orr. "It was a scary situation. I just hope he's all right."

Didn't take long to have the league get a really, really scary moment did it? I agree with you. Make a quick recovery. I hope it's not as bad as it looked.

NOWHERE in that article does it say he suffered a "concussion".

October 2, 2013  09:43 AM ET

One of those things. No punch, just an ugly faceplant from an awkward fall.

He kept trying to get up but they wouldn't let him.

My guess is he's got a dislocated or broken jaw.

And ... of course .... the "ban fighting" morons were out in full force last night. Their soft little hearts bleeding all over my TV.

Nauseating!

Unlike the two Leaf fans who posted a pic of them lying down, mimicking it and calling it "Parrosing".

Hope Parros recovers quick and can thank the two in person, which would lead to the two soiling themselves and Parros just walking away because I'm willing to bet he has more class than those two imbeciles.

My fave was the morons announcing the game for CBC. "Well now you gotta be worried about how long he'll be out. Ten days, maybe?" No, ****, I'm worried if he's suffered brain damage, not worried about when he'll be able to fight again.

It did tend to make me think of Rich Pilon and Kevin Stevens.

But Lars Eller who had a similar fall last year seemed sound last night.

Why is it that anytime someone wants to defend fighting in the League, they usually have to belittle any individual that makes a counter point, instead of the counter point itself?

But wouldn't that be an argument for banning fighting then (the level of concern for potential outcome)?

The "ban fighting" bleeding hearts do not have counterpoints. They just bleat like sheep at the first sight of blood.
