07:25 AM ET 10.03 | Las Vegas doesn't run low on peculiarities, and it may be on the verge of adding another in the form of a certain unique goaltender -- one who may fit in among that particular universe. Former Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov appears to be Vegas bound. According to reports, the 33-year-old Bryzgalov is close to signing with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. Bryzgalov was bought out by the Flyers last season after posting a .900 save percentage and 2.79 goals against average. The Russian native had seven years left on his nine-year, $51 million contract. In 10 NHL seasons spent with the Anaheim Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes, and Flyers, Bryzgalov has 208 wins and career .931 save percentage and 2.55 goals against average.

Hard to believe how well Vinnie's done - for himself - now it's Bryz' turn. Gonna keep sharp, and be ready to cash up - agin, prob'ly with some team he actually wants to play for. Hard t'say whom that might be - but, I'm betting he's enjoying himself, and that it's gonna be at least next season at the earliest before he pulls on a Nat Ho League jersey. Think Can'tucks - afta they blows-up the team, and get rid of Gillis, Toto and about half of the team.

Proof that the KHL *won't* throw money at anything.

I congratulate Las Vegas on their fine choice, strictly for entertainment purposes.

So you purchased the Oldtom Rosetta Stone?

Unlike the rest of the Russian hockey culture, Bryz doesn't seem as eager to return to the 'homeland'.
