06:33 PM ET 10.03 | New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has recently been dealing with a handful of issues, which include off-court legal incidents and injuries. Despite that, Smith was able to secure a new contract from the New York Knicks this offseason, though recently suggested that the elbow he delivered to then Boston Celtics guard Jason Terry in the 2013 playoffs has been the focal point to his recent run of bad luck, suggesting karma is working its ways

We all know JR Smith is a head case but his production for the money that the Knicks are paying him is a pretty good trade off - check the stat's a poster on another site came up with comparing his stats to other players in the league:

"JR Smith 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steal, 0.3 blocks, 1.7 turnovers, .422 FG%, .356% 3P%, .762% FG%, 17.9 PER...6million per year.

Tyreke: 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.6 steals, .5 blocks, 2.3 turnovers, .478 FG%, .338 3P%, .775 FT%, PER of 18.1, 11.8 million per year

Iggy: 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.8 steals, .7 blocks, 2.7 turnovers, .451 FG%, .317 3P%, .574 FT%, PER of 15.2, 12 million per year

Paul George, 17.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks, 2.9 turnovers,.419 FG%, .362 3P%, .807 FT %, PER of 16.7, 18million per year
This production at this price makes JR THE BEST DEAL IN THE NBA. The Knicks can deal with the guy smoking a little weed. He's hardly the only guy in the league smoking pot."

True, and those stats don't even say it. He will double all those some nights. Plus, he can be the most entertaining player on the floor. Just have to be able to deal with the nights that he disappears. Or plays drunk. Or stoned. Or is just being pissy.
