07:24 AM ET 10.04 | These days, baseball is Magic Johnson's game, and on Thursday he weighed in on a variety of topics -- including Robinson Cano's impending free agency. "You know that guy in New York is going to get paid," Johnson said, referring to Cano. "Probably not by us, but he's going to get paid. Hey, when you're a superstar, you get paid." ... When asked if the Dodgers would make a run at Cano, Johnson said, "When you've got to pay Clayton [Kershaw] ... I mean, come on, anybody who knows numbers. A year from now, two, here comes Hanley (Ramirez). We've got guys we need to keep. When it's said and done, the numbers probably don't add up." Johnson added that Kasten and Colletti have already begun talking to Kershaw's agent. "We'll see what happens," he said. "But you know we can't lose our guy."

How long before Cano's camp denies that he's been seeking $300M for 10yrs?

Go Dodgers!!

Superstars also don't quit on their teams and take playing in the WBC for the DR more seriously than playing ML ball...prepare to let Hanley go and pay Cano instead.

Looks like the market for Cano lost a significant player.....hmmmmm.....huge doubts now Robby will get anything close to 10 years or 305 million. I'm glad that Magic actually stated that LA isn't interested because it improves NY's chances of keeping Cano on the Yankees.
We like him, but we like him at a certain price.

Yup. I'm sure Cano's camp isn't happy to hear this.

Magic did say "probably" a lot.

And, isn't he getting kind of old to be called "Magic"? It sounds silly.

As disappointing as Wednesday's game was for me, I'm grateful to the Cleveland Indians for a great season. No one, including myself, thought there was any chance of playoff baseball returning to Cleveland in 2013. The Indians didn't care. They won 28 more games in 2013 than they did in 2012, winning the 1st wild card and in doing so, provided a ton of enjoyment for their fans. I was at the game on Wednesday (there are a couple pics in my images) and The Jake was ROCKING.We'll see you next year. Go Tribe!

Hopefully they can build on their success this year.

And as we all know, when they say it isn't about the money, it's about the money.
