ND's Hendrix rising

07:28 AM ET 10.04 | Who's No. 1? It's not about blurring the line between No. 1 and No. 2 on the quarterback depth chart at this point, but just having some role in the Notre Dame offense, how ever fragmented, that has Irish senior Andrew Hendrix playing with renewed energy and turning heads in practice this week. "I think he was a lot more engaged, just locked in a lot more relative to every little detail," [Brian Kelly said]. ... Kelly is fully committed to exploring the complementary quarterback concept, with fellow senior Tommy Rees still very much the starter. Hendrix's effectiveness has a lot to say with how long and how deep that commitment will go. Hendrix has attempted just 50 passes in his 3 1/2 seasons at ND -- one fewer than Rees amassed against Michigan alone earlier this season.

ND has a team this year, who knew.

And remember they always have the toughest schedule no matter how many teams they play with losing records.

And to now try to take this thread to a more serious level, BK has to try something else at QB as it becomes apparent that Rees is not the answer.
Like pitchers in BB, you can't have too many QB options in CFB.

It's not like Rees and Hendrix are unknown quantities. If Rees was "the answer" he would have been starting all along. If Hendrix is then he would be... they are what they are. With 2 loses and Stanford on their schedule, the Domers should have a 5-star freshman ready to go.

LOL. They should just hire the refs for every game. F me that was pathetic.

Haven't paid a lot of attention to Gray...but those two fumbles at the end of the game, does he have a problem holding onto the ball?

They have one, but they appear to be red-shirting him. He had mono and is still recovering.

Yes...he put the ball the ground in a close game last week, but in that occurrence, the ground caused the fumble--but he still put it on the ground. So they took him out after the second fumble last nite, and replaced him with All-Universe Malcolm Brown (23 carries for 63 yards this season). Is Malcolm or Garrett Gilbert the bigger bust in Austin?

Too little too late.

This guy must be in his 9th year of eligibility by now.

The sad part was that Mack Brown was happy with the win, at least I think he was, the way he was jumping up and down at the end .

Put Hendrix in. It will add suspense and make the game semi-watchable.

I thought it was Mack? :-)

Did you read an article this morning, that told you that the ground caused the fumble, when Iowa State's Jeremiah George picked up a loose ball and started running the other way??
