Condolences to the rusty cow fans.

It's going to be ugly again for them.

October 6, 2013  07:46 AM ET

Wonder if the final score could lead to a job opening on Sunday.

Mack's toast!

October 6, 2013  08:45 AM ET

I wonder why they released the info so early? Usually they wait until the last minute to release player availability.

I think Ash has played his last down. When head injury symptoms drag on this long, it's best not to risk another concussion. He ain't gonna play on Sundays; shouldn't risk losing the brain capacity to make a living some other way.

..........Who's gonna be the coach at the 40 acres next year? I know Earl's pushing Jerry Gray, and the Titans' "D" looks pretty good this year, but he was coordinator last year as well, and they flat out sucked.

Earl needs to shut up.
Jerry Gray would be another on-the-job trainee disaster in CFB.

And people in Houston need to shut up.
The Texans? pffffffft there is only ONE America's Team and it AIN'T in Houston.

Not so sure. The land thieves didn't exactly put a whipping on a 2-3 Frog team in Norman.

TCU offense about same as UTx with Case at the helm, froggies D much better.
Throw in OU always plays their best game of year in Dallas = beatdown

Case is taking a beating on BON and BC and it's really uncalled for. Posters over there have become incredibly negative in their quest for a new coach. BON = Character Assault Central.

That being said, Boykin can throw better on the run and he puts more velocity on his throws. Case has a good short game if it's kept between the numbers and when it's not ... when he throws outs or bubble screens he could be picked if execution isn't perfect. Case has a deep stable of backs to hand off to ... if the OC would call it that way. TCU's O line > UTx O line.

I don't see the UTx defense stopping OU consistently. How do you un-teach 3 years of disastrous D line and LB technique? Can they un-learn all that twisting and stunting at the line and can the LB's learn how to fill the (new) gaps consistently? I've only seen brief glimpses of it this year. And the DBs still haven't learned to tackle. Akina isn't helping his chances to remain with the proram in the post-Mack era. TCU's safety play > UTx safety play.

Ya know, the players should never take the beating on threads, unless they invite it.
Case just isn't really talented, but he definitely gives what he can.

That said, on the hornney toad comparison, with the 4 quality running backs, UTx should be able to progressively move the ball with runs and the occasional keep honest pass, but could never play catchup with what the defense gives up. Just keeps reminding folks that Ash is better than people give credit.

Honestly I don't thnk Colt was THAT good of a talented QB. But what he had, and Case has some too, is a lot of football smarts. His arm wasn't that strong, but he knew what was happening and could play to his strength...that and having Shipley to throw to really helped....and they both have the ability to almost will the team to a score when needed the most.

Agree about Ash and agree about what the defense gives up.
The shine has definitely come off of Applewhite's acumen as OC. Too many called QB runs, J Gray as the goal line back, 2 TE sets are rare ... this borders on comical. Malcom Brown's talent is being wasted at UTx. Same for Bergeron, Overstreet and Harris.

Don't know if true, but was told mb was overruling some of the play calling. Said, ma alluded to it on one of the post game interviews before backtracking next day. Whoever is responsible, deserves a buttload of blame.

You didn't even mention Daje, who got what, one touch? Fastest guy on the field.

Float over ads overkill on FN today.

I agree Colt wasn't a good QB. He was a great QB. He won with his arm, with his feet and with his head. Mack used him as a weapon so much that the offense became one-dimensional. The fact he's on a NFL roster speaks to his talent.

Was MB overruling some of the illogical play calling or the logical play calling? It's pretty ridiculous when the talking heads in the booth see the illogic and speak it on the air.

"I don't know why Texas isn't running the ball." Check.
"Joe Bergeron is their goal line back." Check.
"What this team needs more than anything is an identity." Check.

I was ready for Jesse Palmer to take over as head coach.

I agree with the head part....but not so much the arm and feet. If his arm was that great he would be starting and not a backup.

Don't get me wrong...he is what pulled Texas thru all of those years. Without him they wouldn't have won as many games...but it was more his smarts...knowing when and where to throw, when and where to run...that made him effective...his arm strength and speed is suspect, especially in the Pro's.

Colt and Jordan should have been drafted as a tandem pick...
