Three teams eyeing Josh Freeman?

08:59 AM ET 10.06 | If teams are interested in quarterback Josh Freeman, all (or at least most) leaks have been plugged. For now. And it makes sense. As we've previously explained, teams with a starter on shaky ground invite only trouble if they let it be known they want Freeman, but fail to get him. Still, a few names have bubbled up as Freeman gets closer to potentially picking a new team. Though more rumor than fact at this point, we're keeping an eye for now on three teams: Raiders, Packers, and Jaguars.

Never under estimate the importance of contracts. No team wants to lock on to him for big money for very long, but he will not want to sit as a back up this year and then hit free agency this winter. He may be a little better than what you have but he is not someone you build around.

So the Packers are a team "with a starter on shaky ground"?

Pro Football Talk might want to (Discount) double check their facts.

Then three teams should have their eyes examined.

Three teams are "eyeing" but which one will "aye" him. (Cue first bars of theme from "Dragnet.")

"Freeman gets closer to potentially picking a new team."....What the????

He will pick the first one that calls because their may not be another call.

I don't know where Pro Football Talk gets their info. The Packers most DEFINITELY are NOT interested. Freeman demanded his release or trade when he didn't get to play. Perhaps he hasn't heard. We have this dude named Rodgers here, borderline Hall of Famer right now, and I don't think he's going to be giving up the job for about the next, oh, 10-12 years! Book it. He isn't coming here to GB unless sometime in the last week or two he had an epiphany that toting a clipboard and taking Rodgers' clothes in for dry cleaning is suddenly the best job on the planet.

No. The Packers are a Rodgers injury away from being absolutely terrible. They need a backup.

Actually you've got this one wrong. The Packers already realize if we lose Rodgers our season is over anyway so there's no need to have a pinheaded, substance abuse test failing, no talent, I'm bigger than the team, player as a backup.

Not good, he's facing a tough "D' line today.

I think they are watching so they can sign up to play the team he lands on.

Me like this analysis.

Packers?

I'm ecstatic the Vikings are not in this list.

Thoughtful advice or exasperated command?

I totally thought the same thing. I would hardly consider Aaron Rodgers to be concerned about his job security if Josh Freeman showed up.

In the case of this kid... I guess a little of both.

Word also leaked the Vikes have talked to him but we all knew that from last week but have they talked again?
I'm sure he would turn down oakland, he's not beating out Pryor. The Pack don't need him so it must be the Jags of Vikes. I think he wants to play for a black coach too so that puts the Vikes at the top of the list.
