09:38 AM ET 10.06 | Still recovering from his torn Achilles last April, Kobe Bryant has yet to be cleared to run or jump by the Lakers. His return date to the team for game action is unknown. The team said he went to Germany for treatment unrelated to the Achilles injury. Interestingly, he didn't tell Mike D'Antoni that he was leaving, choosing to notify the team's long-time trainer, Gary Vitti, instead. "Kobe not telling Mike D'Antoni tells you something about what Kobe thinks of coaches, and also Mike's status," said one NBA head coach. "Now if that were Phil Jackson, I would think Kobe would have told him he was going."

Vanessa has more rings than Mike.

That's true and that was my point. Why in the hell should/would Kobe tell Mike everything he does in the offseason?? Didn't Kobe tell the team's long-time trainer, Gary Vitti that he was going to Germany for treatment?? Case closed!!!

The Lakers won their first game with some young guy putting up 29 points last night. Not a bad debut.

I didn't watch the game last night. I don't get too excite about preseason. :-)

The media is just stirring the pot again trying to create a story. They always do this in the off-season. Soon things will be in full swing again and we will be talking about basketball and the games and not all of this other gossip. The Lakers won their first game with some young guy putting up 29 points last night. Not a bad debut.

Well, better than last pre season that they lost every single game.
But OT is right, Kobe has no reason to tell D'umbtoni anything. He told Vitti and that's all he should do and also Cupcake was aware of his treatment.

Here's some more National Enquirer type nonsense.
