07:20 AM ET 10.07 | In the case of Joe Girardi, Halloween looms -- his Yankees managerial contract doesn't end until Oct. 31. Last week the Yankees presented Girardi's agent Steve Mandell with a three-year deal believed to be north of $12 million. Including bonuses, Girardi could earn as much as $15 million. Girardi was said to be mulling the offer during the weekend and polling family members. ... When general manager Brian Cashman conducts his pro scouting meetings Monday there is a chance Girardi will have accepted the offer. ... If Girardi doesn't accept the Yankees' offer by the end of the week, it will be a strong indication he is willing to let his contract run out and entertain offers. Then, the Cubs would be able to make a strong presentation to Girardi who might also have the Dodgers in play by Nov. 1.

Boy Howdy!!

I thought they loved Mattingly in LA after the big surge...I can't imagine they might fire him, maybe he's free to leave like Girardi?
That would be funny if Joe went to LA and Don went back to the Yanks. I still think the Peoria/Northwestern boy Girardi is headed to Chicago if he doesn't stick with the Yanks.

I never get why passing out at your desk at work in a pool of vomit is considered to be a "problem".

Rented a house on the Beach, at Oak Island, NC. Didn't do squat, except sit on the beach (not as much as my wife - being fair skinned prohibits it for long durations). But sat on the deck overlooking the ocean - for hours at a time.....

Oh - and imbibed..... reasonably so.

No - we're not. It's not the losses so much as the incompetent play.... that's what burns me.

They're young...not uncommon the them to get a little tight in the postseason. I feel bad for Myers, he had a fine rookie season and now most people are only going to remember the bizarre play in Fenway's RF. He didn't say this, but I wonder if some fans behind the pen were yelling, "I GOT IT!!!" I know I would do that...

That - or as postulated..... the bull pen. Either way- it wasn't good.
