Gordon trade talks heating up

07:14 AM ET 10.08 | Cleveland's front office may wind up putting coach Rob Chudzinski in an awkward position when it comes to Josh Gordon. Gordon revealed two weeks ago that Chudzinski texted him to assure the wide receiver that he will not be traded. General manager Michael Lombardi and CEO Joe Banner are not actively shopping their star players, but that doesn't mean they won't listen to offers. People informed of the Browns' thinking told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport on Monday that they have talked to other teams about Gordon, with the asking price of a second-round draft pick in return. The receiver-needy San Francisco 49ers, in particular, have shown interest in Gordon. A deal now is considered unlikely, however, with Mario Manningham and Michael Crabtree nearing returns from their injuries, per Rapoport.

Burn on, Big River.

Unless they can get a mid 1 (which won't happen) then they should keep him. Sure he has a one year suspension lurking over his head but so does Von Miller and you don't hear the Broncos talking about trading him!
The Browns need to give him the Dez treatment, give him a 24/7 chaperone and stop worrying about him, just let him play!

It's easy. The FO want a franchise QB next year. So they trade their stud RB and elevate a 3rd QB. But then the QB plays lights out. But luckily for the FO he is out for the season. But Brandon Weeden comes in, and thanks to Gordon, wins the game. At this rate the FO would be lucky to get a franchise guard. So they are looking to trade Gordon, break Weeden's hands, and if that doesn't stop the winning, they will trade the coaching staff for Matt Millen.

And after all of that, they'll still not get what they want out of the draft next year.... because they're the Browns.

Nothing or no one is sacred in Cleveland.

Yes they will......they will draft 2 QB's with the thinking they have tohave one good one out of the two.

No way. Josh Gordon has been the reason they went from losing to winning. I haven't seen much of their games, but on redzone when the bring in the Brown's all you see is Gordon making plays.

If they can get someone to bite, then good for them. They are a team on the up and up. I give them credit for not sitting on past mistakes. Interesting path they are taking.

This would be the perfect move for the Niners to make. Especially with Crabtree coming back.

I like trades...there's so few in the NFL....

I do also. The 49ers a very active team when it comes to trading. I like some of Baalkes trades and others i am rather skeptical about. I like the trading of Alex Smith. I just hope that Alex and Chiefs wins 3 more games, which seems to be a lock, that way the 49ers get KC's 2nd round pick.

The trade for Anquan Boldin was a great pickup
Trading for Colt McCoy has some people skeptical
They originally traded for Eric Wright but got him for free when he didn't pass the physical, he still has not joined the team and probably won't play for the 49ers till next season.

Any talks about the 49ers trading for Gordon this season are officially over. It would be to messy, plus the 49ers decision making in drafting WR's has been questionable.

The 49er passing game for now is the tape worm in a starving 3rd world childs body.

The problem with the passing game is the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, Greg Roman.

I feel ashamed of myself for laughing at that analogy.

Gordon should not be moved for less than a 1st round pick. He's worth more than a 2nd rounder. Teams spend 1st rounders on diva WRs all the time. At least in this case they get a diva WR who they know can produce.
