07:25 AM ET 10.08 | This much is clear: Michigan linebacker Jake Ryan has been given the medical green light to play. [Brady Hoke] has not ruled out the possibility of Ryan playing Saturday when the 18th-ranked Wolverines (5-0) play at Penn State. This news comes on the heels of the program's announcement that sophomore defensive tackle Ondre Pipkins tore his ACL last Saturday against Minnesota and is out for the season. "Potentially," Hoke said Monday at his weekly news conference when asked if Ryan might play. "Potentially." ... Asked if one player can make an impact on defense, Hoke gave a read-the-tea-leaves answer. "I don't know," Hoke said "He's a pretty good player." Hoke made this clear -- Ryan wants to play. "He wanted to play last week," Hoke said.

Michigan. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA

Michigan is 5-0 so does that mean if he is a "game changer" they are going to start losing...?

Stay undefeated, TSUN. The Bucks need you now more than ever.

LOL! well played sir.

While I will admit he is a up grade I hardly would call him a game changer, and Im a Michigan fan. Unless they find a qb that all of a sudden can make decisions and throw 70 yards they look like they are in trouble.

Grandtheft, I agree. As much as I hate (one of many) Ohio State Univ. I am tired of seeing SEC teams. Explain to me how #24 ranked team can get shut out by #1 and remain ranked when the #23 team loses to the #4 team by 7 and goes becomes unranked?

Many SEC fans don't realize how if it wasn't for OSU probation last year Ala. doesn't even go to the NC game, yet they claim they are the best in the land??? How is that by default?

Conference re-alignment and BCS Beauty Contests make for strange bed-fellows, huh?

Never thought I would see this....What's next? Dogs and cats sleeping together? Tinny and Joe Kid vacationing together?!? Where will the madness end?!?

The gist of it is that tOSU has played under a weak OOC schedule and now in a weak conference. TSUN is the only remaining conference game that has any weight to it. Even finishing undefeated, as well as winning The Game and the CCG may not be enough for tOSU to break through the BCS glass ceiling. Sagarin's calculations cannot be ignored.

The enemy (TSUN) of my enemy (Polls) is my friend.

Come on Harley. Gordon Gee said the B1G was murderer's row.

In all seriousness, what do you think of their schedule?

I looked at it and it really doesn't look worse than many others. Sans FAMU, the OOC of Buffalo, San Diego State and Cal looks comparable to others. Having 9 conference games would help but they would have to give up a home game every other year. Not playing many of the better teams in conference seems to be the kicker.

OSU needs to play some real teams in the OOC games so they can control their own destiny. I'll be surprised if Michigan is undefeated/ranked by end of November after playing MSU & Nebraska. An undefeated OSU may still only be ranked 4th or 5th - - Georgia could pass them with the tough games they have remaining. Stanford could replace Oregon ahead of OSU if they beat Oregon. Just my opinion.

Maybe they should go to ten teams and play everyone in the conference.
This may be the new trend in five years!!

If Clemson loses to FSU, then FSU probably jumps ahead of OSU also.

EGG was a pontificating, bloviating Foghorn Leghorn. (Begs the question: What came first?)

Seriously, though, even all other factors being equal in relative SOS, tOSU has again not looked overwhelming in conference play so far. Style points would help, but the other remaining B1G opponents are so low on the Sagarin totem pole that I see no possible bolstering of the Bucks' spot in the polls no matter what. I've already consigned myself to merely hoping for an undefeated season and a Rose Bowl bid. A NCG appearance? Won't happen.

Cal was supposed to be their big OOC game, but they are horrid

Only win, 37-30 over portland st.

OSU might be their closest loss, getting blown out by everyone else

We all pontificate these things this early in the season, when the cold, hard reality is there will not be more than TWO undefeated teams at most at years end. Happens every year! :-)
