07:28 AM ET 10.08 | Just how short was the leash on Peter Laviolette? Three games short. Three losses short. Laviolette, who celebrated a coaching milestone last April with his 750th career game behind the bench, was fired early Monday morning after back-to-back weekend losses in Montreal and Carolina. ... The Flyers were a mess in the preseason (1-5-1) and things didn't look much better once the real games began this month. "I thought our training camp, quite frankly, was one of the worst training camps I had ever seen," club chairman Ed Snider said. "Not talking about wins or losses. There was nothing exciting. Nobody shined. Nobody looked good. I couldn't point to one thing as a positive and I was personally worried. Unfortunately, my worries were realized in the first three games."

And this is no reflection on the GM or owner who obtained the players.........

Executives taking blame? Like Brian Burke when he said every summer that he hadn't given Ron Wilson a team he could win with, before finally firing him and saying "Me and Ronnie never saw eye-to-eye on hockey matters"?

You have to learn to let it go, Danny. Let it go...

correct. I can't even guess how bad it needs to get before Homer would be fired.... since he should have been gone a long time ago

Doesn't matter. Homer isn't the problem. Just like Clarkie wasn't. The problem remains with Jerry Jone..... errr Ed Snider.

Just another example of the quality of character of the man.

No kidding. So ... how was this Laviolette's fault? Ed Snider should know by now that you can't make Chicken Kiev with chicken feathers. Her and Paul Holmgren provided the ingredients.

Carter and Richards shipped out, and won the Cup.

Bobrovsky and the Vezina?

Bryz having the time of his life (no doubt) in Vegas and still earning the check.

No worries Lavy. They probably did you a favor. ;)

Snider is a patient man. He's gonna give Berube 5 periods! 4 pucks, 3 sricks, 2 minutes for holding and a Holmgren in a pear tree.

Just seeing the man in the same building sent poor Nonis to the ER Saturday night.

LOL - who goes to the ER with "flu-like" symptoms?

Burkie when he's out of Maker's Mark and the liquor stores are closed, or maybe when Rob Ford is at work?

Snider and Holmgren are the worst owner/GM combo this side of Dolan/Sather. At least Sather redeems himself sometimes by getting someone even dimmer than he is take a contract off his hands, (see; Gomez, Scott)

Nothing exciting? They need to bring Ilya Nikolayevich Bryzgalov back. He created a lot of excitement. The Flyers miss him real bad. ;-)
