07:14 AM ET 10.09 | Will he or won't he? This weekend has been targeted for Rob Gronkowski's return, but according to a source, nothing definitive has been determined about the tight end playing Sunday against the Saints. That could change soon. Gronkowski, who has been working to come back from multiple forearm surgeries as well as back surgery during the offseason, appears ready to make his debut. ... [The Patriots] and the Gronkowski camp have been divided about the tight end's return date, and the team thought he was ready to play as early as Week 2. Those in Gronkowski's inner circle targeted Week 6, so the expectation is that he will play Sunday. According to Pro Football Talk, Dr. James Andrews is "in charge of the decision-making process" and will be involved in the final say.

Really? Ricky Williams in Hot Clicks? COME ON MAN!!!

October 9, 2013  08:22 AM ET

He's been week to week since the beginning of the season.

If his forearm or back is that close, good or bad, he really needs months to heal not just another week or two.

Gronk forearm even tho it was surgically repaired will be very brittle......this injury could have long lasting effects that he will suffer from down the road.

" Those in Gronkowski's inner circle."....Now that's funny. What do you have to do at a party to get in that group? I would watch that video. for sure.

October 9, 2013  09:08 AM ET

No need to rush him right back just to re-injure himself. Mind you, that's probably a foregone conclusion whenever he returns.

Can't say for sure but I'm betting a burro is involved.

I like this story for one reason - in my league, and I'm sure many - some idiot picked up Gronk in the 3rd round.

Whenever I hear an athlete of any sport connected to an "inner circle" I get scared.

A couple of baby steps and you have an "entourage" like Ali did.

I preferred it when all they had was a "camp".

He won't last long on the field.

Something wrong with this movie. It is like Gronk is the "Tin Man" but he keeps playing the part of the "Scarecrow" Pieces of him here and over there and there....

October 9, 2013  10:49 AM ET

This is a week where the Patriots really need him. I think he'll play.
