07:15 AM ET 10.10 | Say what you will about the Mark Sanchez's tenure in New York, but he generally took the the high road publicly. [Sanchez], who underwent shoulder surgery Tuesday, has said all the right things about the unfortunate injury that wiped out his season. But the Jets quarterback's emotions came out in a behind-the-scenes fit in the immediate aftermath of being hurt in the fourth quarter of a preseason game against the Giants. Sanchez shouted at general manager John Idzik in the trainer's room after the game, according to witnesses. Sanchez was furious the team put him in the game when it did -- in the waning minutes of a meaningless contest behind a second-string offensive line. There has been tension between the organization and Sanchez since then, according to sources.

Isn't this article like 2 months too late? How cares!!!

Suppose that instead of getting hurt, he had thrown a TD pass. He would have been thrilled at having been given the opportunity to enhance his chances to win the starter's job.

He's ticked that he got hurt, but that's the game.

Sanchez got screwed in that preseason game, no mistake about it. After the game against the Falcons, however, it looks like the right guy is playing QB for the Jets after all.

Shame he never had that kind of fire ON THE FIELD.

Yeah. He's trying to turn a circus into an Italian opera.

Wow got hurt in the pre-season and just now having surgery, didn't the Jets have enough coin's to have the surgery done then or did they have to wait and save up some concession money from the games to pay for it?

It is interesting that he yelled at John Idzik and not Rex Ryan. It makes one wonder what is going on behind the scenes with Jets management.

Did he stomp his feet and hold his breath?

Yup, and threw his headband down and called Idzik a "poopy-head"

It is the game. I agree with him though, he'd earned the right to have the starting offense on the field with him. Maybe he still gets hurt, but his chances of protection go up.

Not a Sanchez fan but he does have a point. Most teams rarely use their top players in preseason games. But then again, maybe Smith was already pegged as the starting QB?

It's Geno's team now.

I believe you are closer to the truth here. Sanchez was given every opportunity to succeed over the last few years and the results were (at the VERY best) uneven. The fact that he was inserted into the game at the pointmost backups are speaks volumes about where he was on the food chain.

Good poitn, the GM ddn't put him in, Rex did. Btw, aren't these guys paid to "play" football. The reason Sancheez didn't yell at Rex is because Rexy gives him foot and toe massages after every game and practice......
