07:19 AM ET 10.10 | Another day, another semi-encouraging Kobe Bryant health update. [Bryant] says he has been given the "green light" to ramp up his workouts to return to game action for the first time since tearing his Achilles last April but isn't interested in committing to any set return date as he completes the final stage of his rehabilitation. "I just keep it all open right now," Bryant said Wednesday before joining the Los Angeles Lakers on their flight to Las Vegas for a preseason game. "I don't know why you guys are so hell-bent on timelines. It's like the most ridiculous thing to me." ... [Bryant] said he needs three weeks of "rigorous conditioning" to get back where he wants to be. "I need to get my fat [butt] in shape," Bryant said. "Six months of eating whatever the [heck] I wanted to eat and not running has caught up to me a little bit."

It's Cuban's fault.

If Kobe is back before the All-Star break, it will be a miracle--and a recipe for disaster. This can only end badly.

He was the one tweeting a few months that he is way ahead of schedule and that he could be ready for the first game...smh

He was the one high diving and trying to prove doubters wrong when there were no doubters out there...smh

QUOTE(#2):

At your age Kobe, 3 weeks will likely take 3 months. That's IF you can ever get back to the old Kobe, which I highly doubt.

LMFAO, come on dude, Kobe is 35 years old. He will "never get back to the old Kobe". Are you the same man you were 5/10 years ago, I know I'm not!! :-)

QUOTE(#5):

trying to run on a repaired Achilles as a way to lose excess weight just sounds like a risky plan. He would be better off dieting and swimming first to trim some pounds. That would be easier on his legs and Achilles. He's playing for his last contract this year. Don't hurt that effort with another set back.

EEA, I agree and it makes a lot of sense for Kobe to start swimming to get back into shape.
