Why Fedorov's making a comeback

07:28 AM ET 10.10 | A few of his contemporaries remain in the NHL game, but Sergei Fedorov left for the KHL in 2009. Last time he played professionally was in 2012, when he suited up for 43 games in Magnitogorsk in the KHL. Since then Fedorov then came back to CSKA, where his career started, and became general manager of the team. He never officially retired though. And now SovSport's Pavel Lysenkov reports that [Fedorov] will lace them up again and will play this Friday for his CSKA against Metallurg Magnitogorsk, the last club he had a contract with, which is now coached by "Iron" Mike Keenan. CSKA has been besieged by injuries, with virtually a third of first team players out injured. This is likely the reason for Fedorov's return to hockey. But according to Fedorov himself, his "legs are still running. I'm training twice a week... But I am not closing the door."

hold the phone.... Keenan is coaching in the KHL now?
So I won't have to hear him on MSG/NBCSN this year?
Any chance we could get him to take PM and Milbury over too?

The pair of them ruined a perfectly good Hawks/Blue game last night.

Good thing I could flip to Habs/Flames.

How about Calgary?

Break up the Flames! Tomorrow's thread will be whether they have the #1 slot locked up in the West yet. Probably so I think.

Let's not be hasty here...

As soon as the Stars get to play another game, they may have something to say about this.

It could be worse Otis, I think the Devils have something like 22 back-to-back games.

I ain't saying nothing good about them bullies! Actually, even though we lost, that was probably the best game we played so far this year. At least defensively.

Stars have a back-to-back this weekend on the road. I picture the monkeys from Monster.com throwing banana peels at the wall to make this schedule.

Of course, I'll be at the AAC on Saturday night while the Stars are away. Bunch of old dudes playing guitars and stuff.

Bring him back to the Rags, give him free reign just like in '94.

They played in Vancouver a few weeks ago and apparently it was a great show.

Enjoy Otis.
