12:19 AM ET 10.12 | The saga of disgruntled Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd continues. There has been all sorts of back-and-forth between the two sides since they slapped Byrd with the franchise tag. Byrd wanted a long-term contract held out of training camp hoping for a long-term deal before finally buckling and signing the franchise tender. Byrd still has yet to play this season, he has been sitting out with plantar fasciitis injury. He could be milking it too, not wanting to risk further injuring himself when he has a one-year contract. Then there were rumors that the Bills were looking to trade Byrd. But that seems to be untrue.

Are They Giving You 'The Byrd', Bro?

Classic FN story. They imply in headline a team is trying to trade a player. Admit in story it is " untrue." Report the guy is not only hurt now but has not played a down yet this year. Is a contract headache about to be UFA.

Team says yes, if someone called we would listen. Well, really.

I guess the interns threw a dart at the board and it landed on Buffalo, so they had to try and make up a story.

Plantar Fasc is a mother to recover from. Once I developed it in 2003 it comes back from time to time, often changing me from jogging 7 miles a day to barely being able to walk with a cane. Supposedly there is a surgery that can help, but from what I've read it is far from a sure thing.

Ah, FN, thou art indeed comprised of sub-genius intellects.
