12:23 AM ET 10.12 | According to reports, despite Seattle's interest in Lou Pinella, he has declined and has no interest in coming out of retirement. Piniella has a nice part-time job with the YES network and surely has enjoyed some time away from the game. However, it appears that the Mariners' interest is more from a personal relations standpoint. If they bring in a face that fans want to see to manage their ball club, ticket sales will improve. If this is their selling point on pursuing Piniella, there could be some questions around how quickly the organization will be able to change their recent struggles to success.

Just go back and look at the line up he could put out there when he managed the Mariners. Now look at what he would have to put out there now. And the story ends.

Temporary fix at best. Same reason they brought back Griffey.

I'd be upset with this if I were a Mariners fan. Their plan seems to be improving ticket sales without improving the team. I doubt t this goes well whoever. They get.
