08:49 AM ET 10.12 | Devastated by the death of Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son, LeBron James offered support to Peterson and his family on Friday both on Twitter and before the Heat's exhibition game against the Charlotte Bobcats. Peterson's son was the victim of alleged abuse on Friday in Sioux Falls, S.D., and news of the tragedy rocked James, who is close friends with Peterson. James expressed both sorrow and anger on Twitter. "So Damn sad man!" James tweeted. "Makes no sense at all. Innocent kid with dreams gets taking away by a coward with no dreams at all!" James, who has two sons of his own, went on to add "it hurts me to my heart and stomach." Frustrated, James said the alleged child abuser "will get what's coming to him!!" James reiterated his support for Peterson before Friday's game. "I respect him as a father and as a role model and also having two boys of my own, it hit home, so it's sucks that it's happened," James said. "Our prayers go up to his family and his son and it sucks that we even have to have this discussion. I'm absolutely angry because it's an innocent kid that's taken away because of somebody's stupidity. "I don't know the guy that did it, but there's nothing a 2-year-old kid could say or do or harm any grown up that could make them do that. So, there's a lot of hurt, a lot of anger and it's messed up."

The murder of an innocent child should affect us all..................

Over a million innocent babies are killed every year in the USA...

Where is the shock and outrage over their murders ????

Yes, for sure.....But does it have to be about LBJ?And does this have to be tweeted?

Seems like he wanted people to think.........What a great guy.......

I wondered about the tweeting thing also. It seems sort of impersonal. If you are friends then call the guy and share your sympathy in private. Then again maybe he was just getting othes involved to show their sympathy. Why is this even a T&R?

Because FN is loaded with lowlife decision makers and mods ????

Seems to me the public is a lot more upset than Adrian. While the plan was to take the child off life support last night, Peterson left the hospital to go to practice--and said he was 'focused' to play on Sunday. This is so sad on so many levels.

Slaughter of the innocents.

That is pretty pathetic, IMOHe left to go to practice?I could get wanting to play afterwards, to distract himself from the grief....But before it happened??? To go to practice?????Wow

Exactly. It wasn't even practice; it was stretching. Practice was for something he doesn't have to participate in. And now he's refusing to talk about it.

It's being reported that AP didn't meet his son until yesterday. He only knew about him for a couple of months. Still a tragedy....

So you are judging this man based only on hearsay.
