09:05 AM ET 10.13 | Greg Oden is likely to be cleared for full practice work with the Miami Heat next week and could see his first NBA action in four years during one of their final preseason games, sources told ESPN.com on Saturday. Oden last played in a game with the Trail Blazers in 2009, when he sustained his second season-ending knee injury since Portland selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft. The Heat, who signed Oden to a one-year contract this past summer hoping to salvage his career, have been encouraged by his development in recent days. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra won't rule out playing Oden in at least one of the team's five remaining preseason games if the 7-foot center avoids any setbacks or recurring swelling in his knees, which have endured multiple surgeries the past five years.

I'd tell him to cross his fingers and hope for the best but he probably break one of them.

QUOTE(#10):

Really? A replacement? How is it working out? Can you do any sports?I had surgury on mine because I injurded the meniscus and the ACL. I can do sports but anything that calls planting and cutting leaves me pretty sore the next few days.

I tore my ACL in my final college basketball game in 1980. Since then I've had 2 ACL and 5 scopes. Was able to golf initially but that stopped 5 years ago. Always was swelling so I finally bit the bullet (Decided to do this well recovering from emergency surgery in Dominican Republic) and had it replaced last June. Since then I've cycled close to 6,000 km on my stationary and outdoor bike. No more swelling and relatively pain free.

That's awesome! Congrats on finally getting a pain free solution. My mom had hers replaced also.

I had to wait because of my age. I'll more than likely need a second one. Hate travelling in the US now. I get a full body search at the Airports.
