10:56 AM ET 10.13 | Tight end Rob Gronkowski's continued absence from the New England Patriots' lineup has escalated tension among teammates who have begun questioning him about why he's not playing and left some wondering if he intends to play at all this season, according to multiple sources. "There's curiosity and resentment, and he's creating it by going out and kicking **** during the week and then he doesn't show up on game day and help the team win," one source said. Gronkowski is expected to miss his sixth game Sunday because of multiple offseason surgeries on his fractured left forearm. He has not been cleared by third-party physician Dr. James Andrews, whose involvement suggests trust issues exist between the team and player over his medical condition and readiness to play.

Stick a fork in him. He's done. No, wait. That would be cruel. Dude is fragile.

if the doc doesn't clear him, what is the issue ?team physicians -I would hope- care about the players welfare, but they are employed by the team and have obligations to run the players out asap rather than maybe giving these guys a little more time.So I don't blame the player for getting an outside opinion.

Exactly.

I read this and said what's the problem? He's not allowed to play. It's not his fault.

If the doc says no, it's no. The team won't care if he permanently injures himself. They'll just go get another TE and shake their heads saying "it was a shame". Gronk's probably got more than enough money so that's not the issue. He's doing the right thing.

Exactly. This is the same NFL that to this day does not admit that multiple hits to the head cause concussions and health problems later. They paid the money to the fund but only on condition they did nothing wrong and knew nothing and Goodell only says that more study is needed.

Ya cannot make this stuff up.

I won't know what to think about this issue until that "Reedster" guy weighs in with his opinion.

The wife's bought Swarovski crystal that's more durable.

He has no problem doing pro wrestling moves in Vegas, though. I'm convinced he's not a team player.

October 13, 2013  11:54 AM ET

The second the team thinks he can't perform physically the will cut him and not pay on his non-guaranteed contract. He's got something like a $14 million bonus coming his way next season. We'd all be doing the same thing in his shoes.

He just wants out of New England.

It mentioned a third part said he was not cleared. What about the team doc?

The team doctor gets the last word.

Media manufactured story.
Until BB says their is an issue, there is no issue.

The guy is still a sissy.

Sissy was hanging with Kate Upton for awhile, just saying...:)

The resentment comes from a long time back, when he was partying with the cast on showing up on TMZ body slamming dudes, doing pub with that private jet share company, etc.

Had he been sticking to the NE way, he wouldn't have the locker room abandoning him.

At this point in his recovery he reminds me of a kid whose mom doesn't fall for his I'm-too-sick-to-go-to-school act so he goes to school, sees the school nurse and she sends him home. Meanwhile, his siblings are at school while he's at home watching TV and playing games. I'm beginning to think he's playing us all for fools.
