07:27 AM ET 10.14 | As if the mere fact of his contract storyline wasn't enough, there is also this. Carmelo Anthony said he took a "huge risk" this offseason in opting not to have left-shoulder surgery and claimed he also had a torn rotator cuff to go along with a partially torn labrum. Anthony said he's "ecstatic" it has all worked out because he feels no pain so far through two preseason games. ... "It was all types of stuff going on in there," Anthony said in his first detailed remarks on his decision this summer. "It was messed up." Anthony said he played with the shoulder injury throughout the playoffs. Anthony said he believes he injured the shoulder against the Pacers late in the regular season when they needed the win to clinch the second seed. "I was a little naive," said Anthony.

Damn Melo, season hasn't started and you have already setting up an excuse for failure. You are the captain man cut out the excuses and play ball.

This is NYC - we don't like excuses aka known as 'no beytchin'.

I've wondered for a long time what part of NYC is Natick, MA??

Just play ball. If your healthy enough to be on the court, you are healthy enough to play. Excuses are for the wasted (in warriorland).

He regrets not having the surgury. It's harder to hog the ball with a bum shoulder.

Shhot less and pass more. That should help that shoulder.

While you may be right I don't think Melo's big ball hog. This will be the ALL BALL HOGGERS SQUAD.

1. Russell Westbrook
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Lebron James
4. Zach Randolph
5. Dwight Howard

Notable reserves - Brendon Jennings, Monta Ellis, Tony Parker, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce.

Coach - Isaiah Thomas.

Not as big as the one Knicks ,who just fired their GM, took in signing him.
